It’s hard to know when it’s time for a new job. You don’t want to leave your current role too quickly, but you also don’t want to be working in a job you no longer feel passionate about.

Leaving a role and accepting a new position is a big deal and it is hard to know when is the right time.

So how do you know when it's the right time to leave?

1. Lack of passion – if you’ve lost the ability to care and even the thought of starting a new project makes you wish you’d stayed in bed, it’s time to move on.   Nobodies career is fun every day of the year but you should enjoy the majority of what you do.

2. You don’t feel valued – if you’re constantly going above and beyond to do your job and help others and it’s going unnoticed, that’s not a positive sign.   A good company will recognise what you do and show appreciation.

3. You dread Mondays!  - OK not many people love Mondays but if you’re not the least bit interested or excited about going to work or doing your job, bottom line is you should probably look for something else!

4. Your jobs too easy - If the work you’re doing is so easy you barely have to think throughout the day, you’re not doing yourself any favours by staying there. Work should be challenging and keep you engaged.

5. No work life balance – If you’re constantly working through lunch and weekends and work is dominating your personal life it may be time to look elsewhere.  No matter the organisation you work for, you should still have a personal life and time to spend with friends, family or outside interests.

So if you’re thinking you’d like to look for a new opportunity, please email your details to info@jayfairrecruitment.co.uk and we’ll be in touch about how we can help.
